Sample collections are the “silent salesmen” for manufacturers of all kinds of textiles, wall and floor coverings, papers, films and foils, varnishes and paints, leather and synthetic materials. Collections can be presented in a variety of ways, ranging from the clear and functional to the imaginative and exotic, depending on the manufacturer’s requirements or the tastes of his clientele.
But in every case, the aim of the sample collections is to promote sales.
The visual quality of the collections that are presented usually enables customers to judge the quality of the manufactured materials: sample collections which are frayed, glued in the wrong positions, poorly identified or difficult to handle are no longer sufficient to meet the constantly increasing requirements of a quality-oriented clientele or the marketing requirements of the manufacturers. Nowadays, sample collections are the manufacturer’s visiting cards, and the continuous contribution they make towards successful sales is at least as great as that of all other marketing tools.
